At mua Group, we’re both an independent distribution network operator (IDNO) for electricity and an independent gas transporter (IGT) for gas. We don’t own the gas or electricity, but we collect a fee from the energy supplier for safely and reliably delivering their gas and electricity to homes and businesses through our pipes and cables.
We’re also a regulated water and wastewater company, adopting water and wastewater networks across Britain.
We’re looking for a Compliance Project Manager with Senior Authorised Person (SAP) experience to support the safe operations of our EHV, HV and LV electricity distribution networks.

What we require
Role responsibilities
As our Compliance Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for:
- Delivery of all EHV/HV/LV network operations and control activities
- Issuing and receiving safety documents related to our IDNO networks
- Preparing engineering studies, O&Ms and technical specifications
- Project managing large-scale data centres and battery storage sites
- Developing scoping documents and Mains Connections and Protection Diagrams (MC&P)
- Specifying and managing related equipment and plant, such as relays, CTs and VTs
- Reviewing and assessing detailed designs including SLDs, AC/DC schematics and protection systems
- Witnessing onsite commissioning activities
- Investigating and reporting on any defects or mis-operations
You’ll also become part of our out-of-hours standby team, dispatching emergency response teams to resolve network faults.
Knowledge, skills & experience
For this role, it’s essential that you have experience in EHV, HV and LV electrical system operations. Ideally, you’ll have worked within electricity distribution in a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) role.
You’ll need experience and knowledge of:
- Design or commissioning of power system protection on DNO/IDNO networks
- Distribution network operation and maintenance
- Electrical distribution network design and construction standards
- CDM regulations and the role of the principal engineer
- Standard ICP or electricity construction
- UK electrical practices and standards
- Risk mitigation on IDNO networks
- Faults, emergency and non-conformance reporting
- Procurement, tendering and management of major servicing and refurbishment contracts
- Managing contractors and service delivery in operational environments
