What’s a Meter Point Administration Number?
A Meter Point Administration Number is a reference number given to the electricity meter at your home.
It’s unique to the meter at your home and helps electricity suppliers track exactly where electricity is being used. You’ll need your MPAN when you set up an account with an electricity supplier or when you change suppliers.
If you have equipment that generates electricity at your home, such as solar panels, you’ll also have an export MPAN. You’ll need an export MPAN from us to export electricity back to the grid.
Where to find your MPAN
You can find your MPAN on your electricity bill. It might also be called a supply number.
It’s a 21-digit number, starting with the letter ‘S’. It’s usually displayed in a grid. The main 13-digit unique identifier is displayed on the bottom row.
The unique identifier in an MPAN usually starts with the number 34 for homes connected to our electricity networks, which is our distributor ID.
