What’s a Meter Point Reference Number?

A Meter Point Reference Number is a reference number given to the gas meter at your home.

Your MPRN is unique to your home. It helps suppliers track exactly where gas is being used. It’s different to your meter serial number, as the serial number is unique to the meter, but your MPRN is unique to your home.

You’ll need your MPRN when you move into a new home and set up an account with a gas supplier or when you change suppliers.

Where to find your MPRN

Your MPRN is included on your gas bill. You should also be able to find it on your meter.

It’s made up of numbers, without any letters. Homes connected to our gas networks usually have an MPRN number starting with 74 or 75.

You can also find your MPRN online by searching for your address on the Find My Supplier website.
